During the pandemic, Amazon became one of the most powerful corporations in history.
At the same time, a global movement of trade unions, environmental movements, tax and racial justice organisations, data rights advocates and consumer groups came together to Make Amazon Pay its workers, its communities and for the planet.
Since 2020, this movement has risen up in transnational strikes, protests, sit-ins and rallies across 35 countries on every inhabited continent on the planet.
Now, in 2023, we are coming together for the first-ever Summit to Make Amazon Pay.
As Amazon workers in the United Kingdom and around the world fight for improved working conditions, we are convening at the Mechanics’ Institute in Manchester, United Kingdom, the building where the UK’s labour movement found political expression in the formation of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in 1868.
Building on recent progressive victories like warehouse worker protection legislation in the United States, Barcelona’s Amazon tax and Spain’s Riders Law, the Summit will develop policy solutions on the municipal, national and international level to Amazon’s abuse — workers’ rights, tax, environment, monopoly — as well as strategies for turning popular power into progressive legislative and regulatory change to Make Amazon Pay.
Sign up now to hear the latest updates about the Summit, join the conversation and support the global movement to Make Amazon Pay.
